A good headshot will make you look beautiful. A great headshot will capture your soul in the process and display to the world why you’re beautiful. This is the reason I love photographing people; there’s something extraordinary about working with a person, building a relationship, and playing off each other’s ideas and personalities to bring out a pure slice of you. I’m a rather laid-back photographer-- my focus is on keeping things fun and comfortable, so that together we can create the best possible reflection of who you are. |

www.peterbosy.com/faces.html Since my earliest successful portrait session I’ve embraced a “less is more” philosophy when it came to lighting my subjects effectively. Simplifying the photo set gave me the best results and I’ve kept that studio work style throughout the years. In fact, often clients mentioned the “Bosy shoots clean” approach I bring to my work. Once lighting is fine-tuned, and my subject has selected a comfortable wardrobe, the session begins to flow.
I feel strongly that a collaborative spirit between the photographer and subject is at the core of excellent results. Without the subject’s active participation I couldn’t capture the image wanted or expected…not to mention showing him or her “in the best light.”

As a Chicago theatre director myself, I know what seperates a great headshot from a nice picture. I look for shots that are striking, captivating, and- most important- true. Many actors find me easy to work with because I approach photography the same way I do a rehearsal. And just like a rehearsal I understand that every actor's needs are different, and I'll work with your particular needs to make you stand out.

There are a whole bunch of photographers in Chicago who do headshots, but there are very few who are considered great headshot photographers. Aaron Gang is one of those select few. I make consistently excellent, dynamic headshots for you. I know how to get shots of you that get you in the front door, get you noticed, get you jobs. I am one of those select few who every agent and school feels comfortable recommending. There isn’t a huge wait to shoot with me, and I show you ALL your shots at the shoot. "A headshot doesn't have to be beautiful, it has to be true, then it's beautiful" was a quote I used thirty years ago when I began photographing actors in Chicago. I'm still using it today because it still applies to my work and how I go about it. I love the advent of digital photography and the control it gives me and my clients. The client receives all their proof sheets at the end of a session, which totally cuts out the anxiety of waiting to see how things turn out. During a session my clients can take a look at what's happening on my camera, which makes them more comfortable. I love when a client is happy at the end of a session and when they love their prints!

I received a camera when very young and quickly became the family photographer. I was drawn to taking portraits instantly. Making my leap to professional level in 1999, I started photographing weddings, portraits, headshots, and exhibiting in galleries. When in the studio I truly enjoy the interaction with my subject. I love directing the person to unleash a specific emotion or personality while tailoring the session to their paticular needs. My passion has always been photography and being able to share the experience with others makes it even more enjoyable. Living my life thru the lens, no moment is ever missed. Not too long ago, I was an actor. I love working with actors, and I believe in treating all of my clients like I would want to be treated.
We meet in advance, I offer coffee and my full attention, and together we figure out what kind of shots will work best.
I shoot indoors and outdoors, spontaneously, with lots of variety. It takes a while for people to relax in front of the camera, so I have no preset picture limit. I shoot as many as needed to get it right.
Bring music, food, a friend… whatever you need. When we’re laughing and feeling like ourselves, that’s when we get the best pictures.

My approach to an actor's headshot is different from
that of many of the shooters. Although I also favor a
comfortable look that reveals your unique character
and personality, I believe that how good you look and
how attractive you come across on film counts big.
Even if you are a "character type", if you are shot
properly, you can and should look attractive and your
shot can project excitement.
As a photographer who's specialized in fashion and
beauty for the last 20 years, having shot thousands of
actors and models in Chicago, NYC, and LA, I developed
an eye for capturing beauty. Few studios meet out
standards for retouching. Yes, it will still look
like you. No, it won't look retouched. But we'll
work to make your beauty and personality shine.

I have been doing actors and non-actors headshots for 14 years. My goal is to create a headshot that captures the actor’s personality. When an agent or casting director looks at my client’s headshot I want them to be interested in learning more about “that person in the photograph.” I want others to look at the shot and see the actor’s individual characteristics and genuine feeling. I get to meet, and really know so many creative, funny, and interesting people. I want them to show this during the shoot—be themselves and have fun! If the headshot is good, it will help open the door. I want my headshots to open many doors to my acting clients so they can, in turn, get the opportunity and reward of doing what they love and making a living doing it.

I believe that getting your headshots done should be the one chance you have
to just be yourself in this crazy business. Since you don’t know what the
auditioners are going to want, there’s no point in fretting about “how to
be’ in your pictures. So as corny as it sounds: be yourself. There’s
something very powerful about seeing a picture of someone who looks
comfortable in his or her own skin. I pay a lot of attention to making my
photo sessions fun and relaxed. And the director in me will only choose your
most interesting moments!

I provide info that answers a lot of pre-shoot questions, and shoot in a relaxed atmosphere to put you at ease. If you've never had headshots taken before, I'll let you know exactly what to expect. My main goal is to capture you. The "you" that is real. The "you" in the headshot that will match that "you" that walks into the audition. A great headshot is the coming together of both photographer and
individual: creating a dynamic that captures the person's essence and
personality. I love the experience of working with someone to get
THAT shot - the shot that makes you feel beautiful, makes people take
notice, pause to examine, and convinces someone to choose you. I
enjoy the process of photographing someone - making the person feel
comfortable in front of the lens and letting themself come through.
I have affordable package options for the actor who's just starting
out, as well as more robust packages for the seasoned professional.

I have worked on both sides of the camera for over ten years, and I will take the time to understand your ideas and goals. I will use my experience to create
a custom photoshoot designed to open doors. I work with many agencies and production companies, so I know what clients are looking for. When they flip through a stack of headshots, YOU will stand out.

www.ThePeoplePhotographer.com The thing that excites me about working with actors is that every day it’s different. Whether its new faces, new personalities, or changing and updating styles in photography, it’s never boring. I’m more interested in giving great work to select clients than churning through as many clients as possible. My clients and agents seem to appreciate my approach. Styles and techniques have changed a lot since I started in 1992, and that always keeps things fresh. I’ve seen a lot of photographers come and go in that time. I love my work and hope to be at it a long time from now, giving Chicago actors the best, as I always have. Top |

From the simplest headshots to fashion and physique photography, my work is distinctive and kinetic. I want our focus to be on you—not your clothes or your props or your locale—in a very relaxed and productive shoot. I love experimenting with visual artists, dancers, musicians, directors and actors of all ages and skills. Best of all—my rates start at $99. Let’s play!
