Jethmalani University/Training: Loyola University of Chicago; Oxford School of DramaOxford, England. Recent/Current Projects: Indian Ink, Apple Tree Theatre; The Millionairess, Next Theatre/Shaw Chicago; Mary Stuart, Court Theatre. How has your training/college education helped prepare you for a career in theatre?: By developing an appreciation for all areas of study. Plus learning the fundamentals of discipline for acting, it has helped me in approaching my work for both the artistic and business sides of the career. You apply this discipline from auditioning to marketing yourself, to trying to make bold choices in your work as an actor. You also learn to appreciate balance and all the things life has to offer outside of the theatre, which is definitely key in striving to bring a truthful and more enriched performance to the stage. Why did you choose to ply your craft in Chicago?: Chicago has so much to offer in the variety of work that is done here. The Chicago theatre community is a supportive one, and one that is always challenging itself. |
