Barber Shop II is Ready to Roll
BYBELINDA BREMNER

Barber Shop II officially opened their Chicago office and will begin shooting here this summer. We also get a couple of days on both Game of Their Lives and Shall We Dance in August. There is also scouting going on, so one can stay hopeful—but if we really want work, we better get busy. How so? Glad you asked. As reported in last issue’s column, our Governor has gone on record with his support of Illinois’ film industry. His public stance has given great support to the Illinois Production Alliance, but the organization still needs all our help.

We need, each and every one of us, to write to our legislators to support the initiatives of the Alliance. For more information, log onto http://www.illinoisproduction.org/letters.asap or www.illinois production.org (you can download a membership application or sign up to be on their “call to action” list).

Summer is a great time for a road trip. So how about joining these film industry advocates on their trip to Springfield to show your solidarity and support. Contributions of time, energy and, of course, money are always very useful.
Tenner Paskal Rudnicke have been busy with many projects. Commercial projects have included spots for Northern Wisconsin Medical Group, State Farm Insurance, Roadster Upright Vacuum and Triaminic. On the film front, they are casting for Mr. 3000 with Bernie Mac (shooting, alas, in Milwaukee) and a short film called Driver’s Ed. Talent booked recently include: Chris Marrs, Thomas McNamara, Phil Riderelli, Pakula, Andrew Burlinson, Destiny Ruiz, JR Miles, Geryll Robinson, Carole Dibo, Jenifer Tyler, Spenser O’Connell, Jessina Quiroz, Tim Chidester, Tim Vaughan, Pat Vern-Harris and Wesley Chu.

And Claire Simon Casting is casting productions of Eurydice at Madison Repertory and Arcadia and Turn of the Screw for Indiana Repertory. For a recent Carsons spot, they cast Beverly Tomek, Lisa Keefe and Manao DeMuth.
In her first Reel World report after assuming her new duties at Lily’s, Jessica Thomas reports that there were commercial bookings for Wesley Chu, Holly Swanson, Evelyn Kelly, Gerard Dedera, Grace Winfrey, Nikole Childress and Maria Aki. Gene Honda, Maria Aki, Bert Matais, Tony Sancho, Justin Ochonicki, Clifford Frazier and Mia Park booked industrials. Voice-overs went to Ana Maria Avarez, Julie Mann, Lisa Stran, Alan Ferguson, Cesar Jaime, Loree Vick and Bob Lorenz. And Monica Wilner booked an independent film.

Peace.
