Ghetto Lead Equity Jeffs

The
Goodman Theatre got 13 nominations for four productions in the Equity
wing of the Joseph Jefferson Awards. Goodmans The Odyssey
tied with Famous Door Theatres Ghetto for most nominations
for a single production, with six each. Other Goodman nominated shows
are Boy Gets Girl (5), A Raisin in the Sun and A Moon
for the Misbegotten (1 each). Famous Door also received one nomination
for The Homecoming.
Apple
Tree Theatre also fared well, with five nominations apiece for Once
on This Island and Shakespeares R&J, which was a
co-production with Chicago Shakespeare Theatre. Chicago Shakespeare also
garnered nominations for A Midsummer Nights Dream (3 ), Alls
Well That Ends Well (2) and Antony and Cleopatra (1).
Four
shows received four nominations: Nexts Among the Thugs, Marriott
Lincolnshires Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,
Drury Lane Oakbrooks 1776 and Northlights Side Show.
Drury Lane Oakbrook and Northlight also received six more nominations.
The Equity Jeffs
will be at Northshore Center for the Performing Arts on Oct. 30, 2000.
